A mouse in Holland
Explore with Flossy the Frog
Neither of these runs on our StrongARM Risc PC (RISC OS 4.02). We've tried
also under Aemulor Pro on the Iyonix: Flossy the Frog works but A Mouse in
Holland does not.
With both pieces of software an order form is enclosed for an enhanced
version (with higher resolution graphics), so what we have is the lower
specification version which works on really ancient Archimedes.
Can anyone confirm whether a StrongARM version exists? We have tried
contacting 4mation but no answer so far.

Well the version I have has a master disc in DD format and 2nd disc in
HD and both state 4Mation 1994.
It doesn't work on the Kinetic RiscPC with RISC OS 4.39 or 6.20.
Also doesn't work with !A310Emu either but I have got it to work under
Aemulor Pro.
It need to be set to run as follows:
Emulated Processor - ARM3
Emulated hardware - Archimedes (IOC and VIDC)
Use low addresses for dynamic areas
Emulate all screen modes
Also make sure that all the 26bit modules are loaded by Aemulor

Yes I have SA compatible versions of both of these
If I recall correctly these originally came on 2 floppies. I returned
these and receive three floppies.
Mouse in Holland V1.00 (July 1994)
Flossy V1.01 (Aug1994)

Maybe worth playing around with these settings as I have
Emulated Processor - Strongarm (but my vesrions are SA compatible)
Emulated hardware - RiscPC(IOMD and VIDC20)
Use low addresses for dynamic areas (ticked)
Emulate all screen modes (unticked)

I can confirm you definitely need to make sure of this also

I enquired of 4mation whether they had produced StronARM compatible copies,
and they said that they had, but that they had no stock left as they had
disposed of all the RISC OS stock when they moved offices four years ago.
I asked whether it would be OK to get copies made if I could find someone who
has them, but the reply was that this would be difficult because of the
software protection. They said that StrongARM patches had been issued, so I
guess if I can find anyone who has the patches it would be possible to get
copies of these.
Does anyone out there have these?
Thanks,

I think there is another way. The StrongArm patch would have update certain
files.
Copying those update files back onto an original disc may not upset the copy
protection, I don't think you have anything to lose by trying that.
Re reading the above there could be a problem as with more discs the files
may not be on the same disk! Hopefully the patch is only to main program and
that may still be on the main disc.

The most beautiful thing anyone can wear, is a smile!
I have succesfully copied these discs (for my own backups I hasten to
add) in the past using a 'sector copier' which effectively clones
discs with copy protection et al.
I'm happy to do this if you send me your details offline (my email
address is valid).
Only one problem I don't have any blank DD floppy discs to copy then
onto, so you would need to send me some blanks to work with... (at
least 6 if you want both progs)
