Hi,

StrongED 4.68 is now available from: http://www.stronged.iconbar.com/

There have been many of changes (some of them are listed below) as
well as a number of bug fixes.

About StrongED
==============

StrongED is a programmer's text editor. Although StrongED is a very
fully-featured and powerful editor, it is also surprisingly easy to use.
StrongED can be used to edit anything from program sources to shopping
lists, emails and web pages.

List of changes
===============

One of the most visible changes in 4.68 is that it now has, limited,
support for outline fonts. The main limitation is that the text must not
contain any control codes other than those representing a newline. It is
hoped that this limitation will be removed in 4.69.

Further changes to text redraw and font handling are that support for
the ViewFinder card has been added and that all the font configuration
can now be done from the Font section in the Mode Choices dialogue box.

Line numbers can be displayed in the left margin. Bracket highlighting
has been added, with a supporting function to move the caret to the
matching bracket.

Another major change is that StrongED's choices are no longer stored as
a binary file but rather as a textfile containing key/value pairs.

Replace has seen some major work as well. Replace All uses a different
technique that makes doing lots of replacements much faster. The number
of elements that the replace pattern could contain is now unlimited
(used to be 16) and the size of the replace string which was limited to
1k is now also unlimited.

The replace dialogue box has been extended with a sequential counter
that can be used to insert a number into the replace string with the
number being increased for each replacement. The counter's start value,
step size, number of digits, padding and decimal/hexadecimal are all
configurable.

Sorting has been extended to include sorting in reverse order, remove
duplicate lines after sorting and for sorting to be case-sensitive. A
new Sort dialogue box has been created to allow these options to be set.

Due to outline fonts having been added text can now also be printed in
graphics mode, meaning StrongED should work with a lot more printers.
(The limitation regarding control codes applies here as well).

The print dialogue box has been updated to accommodate the above. It now
allows multiple copies to be printed, and (in graphics mode) printing in
colour and landscape format.

Smart indent has gained the option to indent/outdent lines based on
matching advanced search expressions (based on the 'Variable Based
Indenter' for Kate). It can be used to indent code as it is entered or
to re-indent a (block of) text.

Modifying one of StrongED's default ModeFile (or ModeWhen) files will
offer to save the file to StrED_Cfg.UserPrefs. This saves having to copy
the file to UserPrefs before modifying it, which, although easy, is a
bit of a hassle - especially to explain.

Further details can be found in the History section of the StrongHelp
manual. As always all comments are welcome.
