I'm pleased to announce the release of PrintPDF version 0.70. Although
something of an "interim" version, it provides some useful new functionality
and should give users the chance to test it prior to future updates. I
would particularly welcome feedback and/or bug reports from anyone who uses
it.

New in version 0.70 is the ability to set PDF document information: document
title, subject, author and search keywords. Readers of the finished
document will find these in the Document Properties or Document Info
sections of their PDF viewer, and the title is often shown in the document
window's titlebar -- the latter making the uninspired default option rather
obvious in documents created in previous versions of PrintPDF.

I have also taken the opportunity to update the manual to refer to the PS3
drivers in the installation section. Finally, there is a new facility to
pass additional "PDFMark files" to GhostScript when conversions are started:
this is provided without documentation, for those who wish to investigate
further, but it is not required when using PrintPDF "normally".

For those who haven't come across it before, PrintPDF is a utility to
automate the process of creating PDF documents from RISC OS applications
using GhostScript. In conjunction with a dedicated PostScript printer
driver in !Printers, it allows a 'PDF printer' to be set up. Printing to
this will open a Create PDF dialogue box, from which the conversion
options (quality, PDF version and encryption/protection settings alongside
the new document info text) can be set and the new PDF dragged to a place on
disc.

PrintPDF is released as Freeware. For more information, and to download
