PlayIt version 1.73 release 2 is available for download from
<http://www.users.on.net/~belles/software/playit/>. Thanks to the
ongoing efforts of Willi Theiss and Jeffrey Lee, this release
incorporates Jeffrey's latest SharedSound driver, version 1.11
(5 Jun 2012). The SharedSound driver allows CD tracks to be played
in the background on systems lacking analogue audio.

PlayIt is a disc-based engine for playing sound samples. It is used as
a resource by several audio players including DigitalCD. It was
originally written by Rick Hudson. Thanks to Rick and Andrew Rawnsley
for making the sources available. Thanks also to Willi Theiss and
Jeffrey Lee for their contributions.

PS: Do not attempt to contact Rick Hudson and bother him with
questions about PlayIt; he left the RISC OS scene many years ago.

PPS: If you already have PlayIt 1.73 and are comfortable patching
applications, you may prefer to upgrade just the SharedSound driver
itself, downloadable as
