Following problems reported with version 0.21 of the Impulse module, version
0.22 is now available from the Sine Nomine Software web site:

http://sinenomine.co.uk/software/impulse.zip

The Impulse module provides a framework for inter-application command
execution and data transfer, and is used by Impact, Powerbase and other
databases in conjunction with Impression, ImpEmail and Ovation Pro for mail
merging and report generation.

Version 0.21 had not been tested adequately and prevented Impression from
working properly. Version 0.22 corrects this fault. Please accept my
apologies if you were affected by the bug.

If you are an ordinary user, rather than a software developer, and you do not
use Impression, there is no need to update Impulse: any other software which
uses the Impulse module will probably be updated in due course by the
developers.

I have included new instructions for users on how to update Impression to
load the new module. If you use Impression in conjunction with Impact or
PowerBase it is well worth getting this right, as without making Impression
aware of the new module communication can be hampered if you happen to run
Impression first. Impression users who do not use Impact or PowerBase need
take no action (unless you have already installed Impulse 0.21).

Software developers who distribute Impulse as part of applications are
strongly encouraged to upgrade their distributions to the new version.
Apologies if you already heeded my encouragement to distribute version 0.21.
Please read the new instructions distributed with the module.

Note that the current release of ImpEmail will not behave entirely correctly
with the new Impulse release: dragging text from one email window to another
will have no effect. I will be making a new release of ImpEmail shortly to
correct for this. If you do not use Impression, please wait for this rather
than upgrading the Impulse module now.
