Subject: Snapper 1.17
I am pleased to announce that version 1.17 of Snapper is now
available.

Snapper is a versatile screen capture program. It allows you to save a
specified area of the screen as a sprite. The modes of operation of
Snapper are

1. Save the entire screen area

2. Save the complete window under the mouse pointer

3. Save the _contents_ of the window under the mouse,
without any of the window furniture

4. Save the area inside a user definable box, the size and position of
   which can be adjusted

Snapper was originally written by David Pilling, and supplied as a
component of his scanning and image processing software suite. With
the full agreement and cooperation of David, Chris Johnson has taken
on the maintenance and development of Snapper, and the latest version
is now freely available to all. Any correspondence about Snapper now
should be directed to Chris Johnson.

Apart from some 'under the bonnet' changes and minor bug fixes the
most obvious visible changes are

+ Dragging an area side with SHIFT held down now resizes the snap
area by moving only the side being dragged

+ Bugfix: Now moves area (if open) back onscreen correctly on a
mode change to a smaller mode

+ Added support for global clipboard - when that mode is selected,
the snap can be pasted into other apps by the usual ctrl-V

+ Snap can be set to immediately filer_run in to !Paint or other
   default sprite handler

Version 1.17 of Snapper can be downloaded from
  http://www.chrisjohnson.plus.com/software/snap.html
or
  http://www.chris-johnson.org.uk/software/snap.html

These are independent sites, so one should always be available! Note
the absence or presence of the hyphen if entering the url by hand.
