It now has ChangeFSI support to give better rendering quality than that
supplied by ConvertJPEG, at a substantial speed cost. It can also
choose not to convert files at all, but just copy the original filetypes
and let the Pinboard do all the work. This saves oodles of memory, but
is unusable on non-RO6 computers.
Error detection in the source file has been made a lot more verbose (you
can now actually tell which lines were considered invalid and why, which
you couldn't before!), and the internal aspect ratio-preserving sprite
scale routine has been improved to produce sprites in the current colour
depth.
MBBack is my very own program to perform the venerable purpose of
backdrop randomization (which isn't mentioned in Pontus Lurcock's guide
to PD programs, but probably should be). It can handle any filetype
supported by ImageFileConvert (and, latterly, can use ChangeFSI for
JPEGs on machines without IFC), is guaranteed never to repeat a backdrop
after displaying it once, can scale backdrops preserving the aspect
ratio (very useful for large JPEGs), and has no limit on the number of
backdrops it can choose from. (I just counted - my own list runs to
about 2,700. You may well ask where I got them all from - well, do let
me know if you find out.)
Go grab it while it's hot! Come on, I know somebody uses it somewhere!
