Blue Monday may be a myth dreamt up by companies selling miracle cures
for it and self-appointed self-help authors peddling their latest
bargain bin trash, but that didn't stop me spending mine (and the
following two days as well) slaving away over a piece of software I am
not especially pleased with, but which has nevertheless already proved
its worth in service. Ladies and gentlemen, from the finest at the
house of Kingfisher Corner, I give you: Typer.

Generic-sounding name, isn't it? Well, ROOL say it's free, so I got
there first, even if I didn't.

Anyway, Typer is a simple desktop application which dumps a text file to
the keyboard buffer. In other words, you give it a text file, position
the caret somewhere, and click on its icon, and the contents of that
text file will be passed to the caret holder in exactly the same fashion
as if you'd been pressing the keys at an impossibly fast rate.

This has two main uses:

1: Passing text to an application which supports neither the global
clipboard or IcnClipBrd, Firefox being the definitive example.

2: A fairly sophisticated and flexible 'form filler' of sorts, based on
nothing more than the fact that the Tab character conventionally moves
the caret to the next writable field. It can also optionally blank each
field after the caret moves into it but before the next bytes in the
text file are inserted.

The length of the data to insert is unlimited. Typer is disc-based, and
takes a backup to avoid conflicts. It also intelligently detects when
the keyboard buffer's full, and spreads the data among multiple polls if
necessary.

It can be downloaded from:
