smbserver in a version that runs on the BeagleBoard is available on
http://www.gag.de/software/smbserver
Versions for the IYONIX pc and others are there too.
With smbserver a RISC OS computer can share directories with the method
that Windows computer like (technically: SMB or CIFS shares). This is
the same as the smbserver does on Linux.
