The next meeting of the RISC OS User Group Of London will be:

Informal meeting
With latest show news from the committee

Monday 17th October 2011, 7:45pm

The Blue-Eyed Maid (upstairs in the Spice Lounge restaurant)
173 Borough High Street
London
SE1 1HR

With this year's RISC OS London Show fast approaching, the ROUGOL
committee have been somewhat distracted and so there is no formal
speaker arranged for this month :-(

However there will be plenty to discuss, particularly the soon to be
released Raspberry Pi tiny $25 computer, a prototype version of which
can be seen at the show. Will it provide an ideal platform to inspire
the next generation of coders? Will it reinvigorate the teaching of IT
in schools? And, most importantly, will it be running RISC OS at the
show :-)

For these and other questions, but not necessarily answers, join us at
this month's meeting.

Plus, already running RISC OS, there will be a Beagleboard-xM at the
meeting for anyone who wants a play or to test out any of their
software.

RISC OS London Show
===================

A reminder that this year's London Show is on Saturday 29th October,
from 11am-5pm, at the St Giles Hotel in Feltham.

There are still a couple of exhibitors that we can't tell you about
yet, so come along to the meeting on Monday to hear the latest news
and keep an eye on the show website:

http://www.riscoslondonshow.co.uk/

The usual arrangements
======================

Admittance is free and everyone is welcome. A range of hot and cold
food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, will be on sale.

Anyone with wireless enabled handhelds or laptops can access the
internet during the meeting, or (if time allows) use ROUGOL's RiscPC
to do so after the main presentation has finished.

The venue is between London Bridge and Borough tube stations, so
readily accessible by public transport (both stations are a five
minute walk away, through well lit and CCTV'd main streets). It also
has ample cycle parking (covered by CCTV) very close by.

If you are arriving by car, the Congestion Charge ends at 6pm and our
meeting starts much later. However, please note that parking on double
red lines is restricted at all times. On single red or yellow lines,
it is best to park after 7pm. If you aren't completely familiar with
*central* London parking or driving, please allow extra time,
patience, and maps.

If you need any help reaching the venue, or any other information,
please contact us as below.
