!FFmpeg and !FFplay version 1.21 are available from
<http://www.users.on.net/~belles/software/ffmpeg/>.
Also available via that page are companion modules
DigitalRenderer 0.55 and PlayIt 1.72.

FFmpeg is a versatile, open-source, multi-platform video and audio
converter. Through the use of FFmpeg, it is now possible to process a
large number of movie formats for which there are no high-performance
RISC OS players.

FFplay is a simple media player built from FFmpeg and SDL. It is
mostly used by the FFmpeg development team as a testbed for the
various FFmpeg APIs. It is not intended to be a high-gloss
high-performance player, but it will fill a gap on the RISC OS
platform until MPlayer improves sufficiently.

This release offers minor performance improvements on StrongARM
systems, and modest performance improvements on ARMv5 and newer
systems (eg. Iyonix, BeagleBoard). Unfortunately, ARMv7 systems may
require alignment exceptions be turned off to work with some formats
(including MP3).
