Subject: VRPC on Windows and Mac at London RO user group, Monday 20th October 2008
The next meeting of the RISC OS user group of London will be:

Virtual RiscPC workshop & informal meeting

  Monday 20th October 2008, 7:45pm

  The Blue-Eyed Maid (upstairs)
  173 Borough High Street
  London
  SE1 1HR

At this meeting we're planning for some Virtual RiscPC activities, and
should be able to show the Virtual Risc PC emulator running under both
Windows and Mac OS.  We may also be looking into fixing a VRPC system on
Windows that has some problems.

This meeting will be largely informal, with no full length talk. Anyone
who uses VRPC is encouraged to bring their system along and show it up and
running and discuss the advantages or disadvantages they've found with it.

This will lead up to a presentation of the free RPCemu RISC OS emulator,
running under Linux on an eeePC, at our November meeting.

A wide range of hot and cold food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks
(quite expensive), will be on sale.  Admittance is free and everyone is
welcome.

Anyone with wireless enabled handhelds or laptops should be able to access
the internet during the meeting, or  use ROUGOL's own Risc PC to do so
after the main presentation has finished.  Please speak to Bryan Hogan if
you have problems connecting.

The whole of the venue is now entirely a non-smoking area.  There is
shelter, and sometimes heating, for smokers outside.

The venue is between London Bridge and Borough tube stations, so readily
accessible by public transport (both stations are a five minute walk away,
through well lit and CCTV'd main streets).  It also has ample cycle
parking (covered by CCTV) very close by.

If you are arriving by car, the Congestion Charge ends at 6pm and our
meeting starts much later.  However, please note that parking on double
red lines is restricted at all times.  On single red or yellow lines, it
is best to park after 7pm.  If you aren't completely familiar with
*central* London parking or driving, please allow extra time, patience,
and maps.

If you need any help getting to the venue, please contact us.
