The Christmas Clip Art (that was promised on page 9 of Qercus issue 292)
will be on this month's web page later today.

www.qercus.com

Surprisingly no one has yet correctly answered the Qiz (page 31) despite our
receiving complaints that the Qiz was too easy - so there is chance for all
of you yet! And on the subject of quizzes we don't expect to get any wrong
answers for the free software competition on page 8, so get your entries
e-mailed to us ASAP.

Qercus 293 (February) should be available from the end of January 2010.
Feedback on issue 292 has been good (and even the criticisms are calls for
items that are under preparation for issues 293 & 294.

The next issues will include reviews of the RISC OS software released at the
Christmas Show. Received and in preparation are articles on genealogy,
databases, web design, and RISC OS 6.20. Games Mathematical and the new
Meccano feature return, the latter with a tutorial on producing isometric
images; we may even use the new skew feature in RISC OS 6.20's Draw!

Under the Meccano umbrella will be an item on photographing small items (for
model makers, ebay sellers, recording for insurance, &c); discussion of how
to put together an instruction leaflet (for Meccano, software, class
handout, &c); and examination of a current Meccano set.

We will be disclosing how we produced issue 292 and (in issue 294) how the
production of issue 293 differed.

And, if we can drag our youngest contributor from her Wii, she has agreed to
review some of the RISC OS educational games that she plays with.

Feedback: the editor's name was incorrectly added to the review on page 28;
that review was written by Colin Cartmell-Browne, though the last paragraph
was from the editor and should have been shown as a boxed item linking that
review and the one on page 30. Apologies to Colin for the mistake.

If you haven't received your Christmas issue of Qercus (number 292) then
contact the Qercus office at edi...@qercus.com or by telephone on 0161 969
9820 or 0845 006 8822.

Copies of issue 292 are still available at £4.99 (inc UK postage).

Happy Christmas!
