Way back when I was kid, I cut my teeth on computing first on a BBC B
and later an Acorn Archimedes A3000. Ive recently been feeling very
nostalgic for the old days (I think being a Windows user will do that
to anyone over time!) and went on Ebay to pick up an A3000 and BBC B
Model B.
I was wondering if anyone could recommend me to online shops that
would sell cables that would allow me to hook these computers up to a
SCART TV, or better yet, A Commodore 1084S monitor?
I know there are schematics for making ones own SCART cables, but
truth be told my soldering skills are absolutely zero, and I would
prefer to buy such cables either from a retailer or someone who could
make these cables for me.
If you could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and Best Regards,
Mark Fletcher
Does the A3000 not have a TV modulator? The A301/20 did.
CJE keep a large amount of backwards compatible hardware and software
even including the BBC Micro IIRC.

Indeed, I found CJE by browsing this group and Ive bought the
appropriate leads of them... thanks!
On another note, can anyone recommend a good Acorn Community Forum
site, or is everything still done via newsgroup?
Thanks,
Mark

Mark,
Much discussion (and very very much off topic stuff) still happens on
newsgroups, but you may well get unbalanced opinion here. There are specific
mailing lists for many products and a few magazines available for
subscription.
But the best advice would be to find a usergroup close to you - ask here
(I'm not sure where you live) or in misc.
Active Magazines available are:
Archive - http://www.archivemag.co.uk/
Qercus - http://www.qercus.com/
RISCOS NOW - http://www.riscosnow.com/about.html
RiscWorld - http://www.riscworld.co.uk/

Stairway To Hell. I found it a few days ago. There's quite a good forum on
there too. It covers Electrons and BBCs.

There are lists related to products and informal contacts through local users
groups. If you live within reasonable access of south Manchester then do drop
into the RONWUG (RISC OS NorthWest User Group) tonight where Steve Furber
(hardware design at Acorn) is speaking. We meet every month and that's typical
of user groups. Other groups include Wakefield, Midlands, NorthEast, London,
Ipswich, Southampton, Wirral, and more.
