Subject: 3b1.org - a UUCP hub?
I've not seen this USENET group this alive in a very long time.  Even
when the 3b1/7300 was new it was considered a dog, though there were
many clever people that got their moneys worth out of them.

I registered 3b1.org quite recently merely as a 'vanity' domain for
the sdf.lonestar.org folks, but after seeing the activity here I thought
I'd suggest using it for a UUCP hub/map for bang pathing.  I'm sure
most mail programs still understand login%host@domain addresses and I'd
be happy to setup polled UUCP via dialup or TCP (if you can manage that).

I used to provide USENET feeds via email (individual articles would be
emailed via UUCP).  We're still spooling news and if you aren't reading
this on a 3b1, you could very well be.

I have tried to revive UUCP for email numerous times in the past bith for
fun and because it offers a virtually spam-free way to do email.  I have
never found anyone interested.

Subject: Re: 3b1.org - a UUCP hub?

Well, I am interested, at least at some level.  I think I still
remember enough to hack the sendmail.cf file on my mail server to
enable bang paths.  First I need to get some more software onto my 3B1
though, and for that I have to get a working floppy drive, but that's
another thread...

I wonder if one of my 56K modems will work over my VoIP connection?
;-)
