pride " my thousands of hours of reading on Y2K". Oh, you say that was
1 single weather report ....why didn't you say so. You make so much more

paraphrased you. I am really attempting to be exact here paul, as I know

You sound like someone who has the potential to be a nice person.
Regrettably, the majority of your posts have been snide and manipulative
rather than constructive or even reasoned and on-topic. If you want to
"start over", you can begin by issuing a sincere, complete apology to
Paul and by stopping your trolling. Period.
If it amuses you to yank people's chains, go hassle someone in your

I may have given a wrong impression with my earlier posting. By
"appropriate threats" I meant the normal indicators of further action
if I did not heed his request - i.e. filing an abuse complaint with my
I,S,P, (which would be taken seriously by the I.S.P.).
In any event, the exchange was many months ago and has long since been
purged from my mail program although I do have an old backup tape that

I may have given a wrong impression with my earlier posting. By
"appropriate threats" I meant the normal indicators of further action
if I did not heed his request - i.e. filing an abuse complaint with my
I,S,P, (which would be taken seriously by the I.S.P.).
In any event, the exchange was many months ago and has long since been
purged from my mail program although I do have an old backup tape that
might have it.

I know I will sound partisan when I type this, but the level of noise has
noticeably increased since both of you began posting in greater volume.
Your Amen choir to Paul's missives contribute greatly towards eliminating
whatever pitiful signal remains in this newsgroup. You originate insults,

Mr. Ambrose's definition of a "troll" is anyone who doesn't agree with his
and by default) Paul's paradigm. For some strange reason, he seems to
think that anyone who posts to this NG with anything except a DB postion is
off topic for the NG and hence a troll. Perhaps he mistakenly believes that
this is the Y2k end of the world NG.
It's really interesting that he would object to my golden rule of "what goes
around, comes around" while at the same time objecting to how people treat
Mr. Milne. Mr. Milne's treatment by others in the NG is just an example of
that golden rule in action.
When I asked him why he never initiated any useful threads, his response was
that he would when he had taken care of all the trolls. Since I'm not going
anwhere and he considers me a "troll" I can safely assume that he won't be
adding enough useful facts or ideas to the group for me to listen to him.
Also, when Mr. Ambrose started using my dead parents for "flame bait" he
immediately hit my killfile. Anyone who stoops to that level in a
discussion to avoid discussing the facts obviously had no facts to begin
with.
That is why Mr. Ambrose is one of the two people in my killfile and I would
agree with anyone else's decision to add him to theirs.

I will be happy to stop my contributions to the noise when trolls like
Dechert, Kauffman, and sometimes even you stop making your own noise.
There are several people in this NG with whom I have had very reasonable
and pleasant disagreements because we stuck to the substance of Y2K. I
will be pleased to do that with anyone else.
But, I have no patience for the clever slurs and snide attacks. I will
respond in like kind when necessary.
