Call Screener W7 for 64-bit Windows 7 is a totally free,
no strings attached software application that blocks
unwanted telephone calls. It runs under 64-bit Windows 7,
and requires a dial-up modem that has voice and caller ID
capability to be installed on your computer. (Note: Call
Screener uses only the voice and caller ID features of the
modem -- there's no need to "dial-up" anywhere.)

When a call is blocked, Call Screener speaks the message
contained in the ZapMessage.wav file to the caller. An
example of a ZapMessage.wav file is included in the kit.
A separate anonymous caller rejection message,
AnonCallerMessage.wav also included in the kit tells
anonymous callers how to remove their call blocking. As
with ZapMessage.wav, you can replace it with your own
message (or with just a renamed copy of ZapMessage.wav,
if you like).

You interface to Call Screener via four text files that
reside in the same folder as the Call Screener.exe file.
These files are: Block.txt, Accept Always.txt,
Calls Received.txt, and EventLog.txt. You can use a file
editor such as Notepad or Write (both of which come with
Windows 7) to read or edit these files.

There seems to be a paucity of dial-up modems for which
both voice and caller ID are supported in Windows 7. Three
that I've actually used and can personally vouch for are the
HiRO H50113, the HiRO H50006, and the Rosewill RNX-56AG.
The HiRO H50113 is an external USB modem, and the others
are internal PCI modems. I like the HiRO H50113 the best
since it's the least hassle to deal with. The TRENDnet
TFM-560U is another external USB modem that I suspect
would work as well (with the driver included in the kit) as the
HiRO H50113, but since I've never used it and don't have one,
I can't personally vouch for it.
