I'm not sure it is still in print but "Executable UML: A Case Study" by
Leon Starr was a book about a single complete application (controlling
elevator banks in a high-rise). It had a disk with an executable model
so that you could change the model and observe the affects.

It's out of print, but there are some downloads available at the Model
Integration website.
