Hi,

I would like to model the dynamics of a satellite using the
SimMechanics blocks. The satellite is considered as a rigid body with
two articulated solar arrays (also simplified as rigid bodies, no
flexible modes). The satellite is to be actuated by thrusters that
create a net force and torque on the main body. I'm a new user of
SimMechanics, and after first happily playing around with joints,
actuator etc. I ran into this gimbal lock problem of the 6DOF
constraint (due to its internal use of Euler angles I suppose). I
didn't find a constraint that uses quaternions as alternative to
prevent singularities. Does anyone have a solution to this?

regards, Patric
