I bought Maple 9 for OS X earlier this year and I have to say I am
really disappointed. The Java interface is cludgy and slow and what is
that little frozen coloured disk that seems to pretend to be a cursor a
lot of the time ?

Are there any plans to actually make a real OS X application or to
enable xmaple so that it runs under Apple X11 ?

On that last point does anyone know how to do this? It seems xmaple
is just setup to launch the Java GUI again. Would it be faster if one
could get the real xmaple to work ?

Or should I just give up and buy Mathematica :-(

Michael

PS. I am running it on a Ti Powerbook 1 ghz with 1 gig ram and
a dual 1 gig G4 tower with 1.5 gig of ram. So I don't think the
lack of speed is lack of hardware power.
