Hi ACE Users,

I am posting for a great, new financial start-up, MarketFactory, located in NYC.  MarketFactory is looking to hire for the following development positions:

Open Positions:
C++ Developers will be involved in the full life-cycle of the development process for a highly scalable, multi tiered trading application (analysis, design, construction, and implementation).  Strong knowledge and experience of C++ in a Linux environment, TCP/IP protocol, Multithreaded programming, STL, and rapid development methodologies required.

Trading API Developers will be involved with high-performance exchange connectivity and the software surrounding it.  Strong knowledge and experience of C++ in a Linux environment, FIX protocol, commercial and/or GPL FIX engines, TCP/IP protocol and low latency messaging middleware/pub-sub technologies: Tibco Rendezvous, LBM AMQP MQ Series, etc. required.

Company Overview:
MarketFactory is a high-growth startup founded in July 2007 with the goal of developing next-generation trading platforms for the foreign exchange, fixed-income, and commodities markets.
Based in New York City, we are a team of software engineers, business analysts and quants who embrace iterative development, unit testing, and open source tools. We characterize ourselves as analytical and creative, with an appetite for the thorniest problems in trading: speed of light issues in message transmission, dynamically generated markets and rapid liquidity provision.

MarketFactory offers full benefits, competitive cash and equity compensation.

To apply for any of the above positions please email a copy of your resume to recru...@marketfactory.com.

Regards,

Uhh.  Does this really belong on this list?

I always kinda thought that ACE Users was more of a technical discussion related to the actual
use of the ACE, TAO, etc. middleware for the implementation of distributed computing applications
and systems.  Perhaps there is (should be) a separate list for the job-shop type postings relative
to prospective employees/employers?

(What the heck is a 'quant'?)

"the thorniest problems in trading: speed of light issues in message transmission, dynamically
generated markets and rapid liquidity provision." sounds sort of like gaming the market...

I'm glad to hear that ACE gets used and that the base is expanding.  I used it on my last project.
It saved me a ton of coding, perhaps I should post some stats for Doug, Johnny and the crew to
get some well deserved credit.  Perhaps you should tell us Brian what you have done with ACE?

"MarketFactory offers full benefits, competitive cash and equity compensation."  Ahh Bonuses.

Sounds like everyone on Wall Street gets 'em these days...

Hi Gregor,

> Uhh. Does this really belong on this list?

Brian had contacted me prior to posting this message and I encouraged
him to post it since the skills needed for the job posting are relevant
to ACE+TAO users and it doesn't hurt to help people get jobs these days
(especially on Wall Street ;-)).

Thanks,

Doug

Hi Gregory,

Yes, the list is for technical discussion, but the occasional job posting does come up, and that's fine. This is, after all, where you'll find a lot of ACE developers hanging out. And there are more than a few folks looking for jobs these days - notice of a good one is very appreciated.
