The requirements are:
Runs on 68000 based microcontroller,
intertask/interprocess communication,
can pass data structures in messages,
timer facilities,
decent scheduling system,
basic multitasking.
If anyone knows of such a thing and if it's available on an FTP
server I would greatly apreciate any information.
Replies via e-mail would be appreciated because of severe limits on
my access to Usenet.

Nucleus is made by Accelerated Technology in Mobile, AL (800)-468-NUKE.
It's not public domain, but it is relatively inexpensive, and has no
royalties (I think...)
Good luck,

Brewster LaMacchia is correct. Nucleus RTX sells for $3.5k USD and is
provided with well documented source code and no royalties. Also, Nucleus
RTX supports many of the popular 68k development tools (i.e.: MRI, SDS,
Sierra, Green Hills, Introl, Intermetrics, etc.). For additional

Good Luck :-)
We are currently looking at CMX-RTX. This comes from CMX 19 Indian Head Heights, Framingham,
MA 01701 (508-872-7675), UK distributor Computer Solutions Ltd. 1A New Haw Road, Addlestone
Surrey KT15 2BZ (0932 829460). Computer Solutions seem really good, not at all marketroids.
Don't know how good it is (yet), but cost is around 600 pounds sterling, no royalties, and it
supports at least HC11, 683xx, HC16 (these are the ones we are looking at).
I have been nervously looking at the prices of various of these products, and this is the only
one that comes close to our budget (unless in the final evaluation we decide that nucleus or
one of the others has an absolutely 'MUST HAVE').
The literature says it supports alll you need, although not spelling out what sort of messages
you can pass, and it support at least IAR, Avocet, Hi-Tech, Intermetrics, Whitesmith, Introl,
SDS compilers (don't know which of these has been configured for 68K).
