What kind of moiré are you talking about? If it's the kind that appear
in rescreened halftones, I don't know of any 100% reliable way to
preview them except with an identical screening algorithm and resolution
to that used by the RIP producing the final film or plate.

Neil is right. It really depends on the program you use to create the
PDF in. Which application are you using to create the PDF in? If its
InDesign, then there may be a problem with your settings. They should
be set for press ready quality.

Can anyone explain why programs that can create PDFs frequently break up
the objects into multiple pieces? Some do it more than others so it
apparently is program-specific although there isn't much consistency

I need a full rez preview so I can place a die file, have 4GB of ram
on this mac, have the max allowed in Quark prefs for hi rez preview,
have nothing other than Quark open & it tells me not enough memory!
I'll be glad when InDesign drives a stake through Quark's heart &
finishes them off for good!
