But, if you can burry your PC in a sound-isolated room you'll get a great CD
recorder.

No more than there is a "known problem" on any real world product. While
it is true that some 7502 drives have fan problems, it is also true that
other drives have their own share of problems. If your fan goes bad, get
the drive replaced or serviced, just as you would with any other product.

I got a CW-7582, the IDE version. Sometimes, when reading, it'll make a really
loud buzzing noise, stop, and try again. The drive still works, although I'm
concerned about this. Does anyone know if this is normal behaviour?
My first CW-7502B made the same noise and occasionally had trouble reading
discs. I returned it for a new one which has been quiet and very reliable.

300a CPU,32M, BX Board,AdvancSys 940 SCSI card,
Remove/rename the SCSIHLP1.VXD file, this is often the solution.

Pfff...now you're asking. I don't really know, other than that it
fixed a lot of problems for me :)
You don't have to remove it, you can also rename it. As soon as a
program starts complaining "can't find scsihlp1.vxd", rename it back.
