This in reference to RFC 3376, Sections 4.1.6 and 4.1.7
In the below setup, igmp query interval and igmp robustness at the non-
querier were to default values i.e 125 seconds and robustness of 2.
On receiving queries from Querier, the IGMP Non Querier adopts the
query interval(lets say 60 seconds) and robustness (lets say value 3)
from the Querier.
Later when the Querier is down, the Non-Querier waits for querier-
timeout seconds and takes up the role of querier. But now in my setup,
i observed that Current querier (earlier non querier) resets query
interval and robustness to older values (125 and 2) rather than
continuing with the adopted values from the earlier querier. I didn't
find anywhere in RFC 3376 on what to be the actual behaviour here. Can
any one reply to my query or point me to a link to find the answer for
this.
