problems detecting a broken connection
|
| |
Hi, I experience problems with the detection of a broken connection using pppd v2.4.4 for a GPRS connection. From time to time the connection goes done (probably due to bad GSM coverage). I'd like to be able to detect this case and force a reconnection. The parameter pair lcp-echo- interval and lcp-echo-failure seem to be the appropiate tool for this... more »

At the moment, I'm using the /etc/chap-secrets file on the ppp server... more »

This point is mentioned in FAQ, but I verified my server side MTU values. The following is the output from ipconfig /all command: Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]... more »

Proxying PPP from ATM to Ethernet and vice versa
|
| |
Hi! I'm currently developing at some SoHo Router which should be able to speak both PPPoE and PPPoA. In fact, the modem is a separate machine (TI SoC with ADSL logic onboard), accessible via a dedicated Ethernet NIC. For PPPoE the modem simply bridges external and internal Ethernet interfaces, so the complete PPP dial-in (including authentication) can be done on... more »
