Hi,
I have setup a pptp server on a linux machine X. I am using a VPN client on an Android phone to connect to this pptp server and then access the web. The VPN connection works fine. CHAP response retransmission (PPPoE)

Our box is running ppp 2.4.4-2 being used for PPPoE mode configuration.
Excuse me if this is not right forum for this.
One customer is testing it against other ppp server for PPPoE.
In testing, he is withholding CHAP Success/Failure message, to test whether CHAP Response is resend or not.... more »

I have two VM's running on Ubuntu box.Their name and IP addresses are give below.
nas 192.168.129.153
home_user 192.168.129.152 I establish a ppp connection between the two machines

ttyUSB0 workarounds?

Gentlemen, this works perfectly
...usepeerdns 115200 connect 'chat -v -f /etc/chatscripts/generic -T 40508888'
Alas when I instead use /dev/ttyUSB0 I often get
"Couldn't get channel number: Input/output error".
What more pppd options might I try as a workaround?
I.e., how can I tighten up some options so my serial port adapter... more »

How/why always on-line?

I'm using the same 10yr-old ppp-script as for my dial-up modem
on this wireless-modem [by: ln -s /dev/ttyUSB0 /dev/modem]
And it used to <cut off ppp> when I disconnected the USB to the
wireless-modem; as I wanted.
Something happened [when I had a crash and changes to my old
distro]. Now ppp won't die; nor by `kill -9 <ppp-pid>`.... more »
