Hello,

Since upgrading from bind 9.3.0 to 9.5.1b1, the format of the statistics
file output has changed dramatically. The old format used to be;

+++ Statistics Dump +++ (1217405327)
success 734
referral 0
nxrrset 85
nxdomain 1748
recursion 2667
failure 102
success 0 localhost
referral 0 localhost
nxrrset 0 localhost
nxdomain 0 localhost
recursion 0 localhost
failure 0 localhost

But now it is;

+++ Statistics Dump +++ (1217404994)
++ Incoming Requests ++
5507772 QUERY
92 NOTIFY
254054 UPDATE
++ Incoming Queries ++
3142144 A
<SNIP>
3 Others
++ Outgoing Queries ++
[View: default]
903227 A
1026 NS
<SNIP>

Is this expected behaviour and can it be changed?

Many thanks,
Tom.

It's the expected behavior and cannot be changed.

Actually it can be changed but he'd need to changed the source code and
maintain it himself.

The new stats provide much more information so it is not a good idea to
go back.
