Hi all,

Is it normal to have an empty Velocity Encoding Macro in a Philips MR Enhanced multiframe dataset that is clearly a Phase Contrast series? Is there any reason (other than misconfiguration/bug) why the macro items are all in zeros?

-------------------------------

FYI The Philips DICOM Conformance Statement describes support for the macro as such:

MR Velocity Encoding

>MR Velocity Encoding Sequence 0018,9197 SQ ANAP , AUTO
>>Velocity Encoding Direction 0018,9090 FD ANAP , AUTO
>>Velocity Encoding Minimum Value 0018,9091 FD ANAP , AUTO
>>Velocity Encoding Maximum Value 0018,9217 FD ANAP , AUTO

Where ANAP = the attribute is present under specified condition – if present then it
will always have a value
AUTO = the attribute value is generated automatically

Hi Simon,

Please send the dataset to the Philips DICOM helpdesk with the same question.
(address is straightforward DICOM with the normal international Philips end).
We can have a look if we understand why the zero's are there or if it is indeed a bug as you suspect.
Misconfiguration is hardly possible as you can't configure this.

Regards
Wim
