Hello,
The American team leader creates a detailed work plan, hires a few experts, and finally produces a shiny $2,000 machine after 2-3 years of hard work. The Israeli, on the other hand, interrupts the executive after three minutes to say his idea is stupid but decides to take up the challenge anyway. He rings his buddies from the kibbutz, who grow bananas and have spare parts from Uzi submachine guns to build the machine. After eleven days, he comes back with a $13 machine which makes perfectly straight bananas. It works 60% of the time.
This is the essence of the Israeli innovator: finding a smarter solution by spending as little time and money as possible.
