Help with Scanner

Dear whoever can help?

I very recently purchased a sanner from ebay. Unfortunately, for me,
the driver is for Windows '98. I use Windows XP Professional. I
managed to find a site DriverGuide.com where i discovered a driver
for:
Primax Colorado USB 9600/16200 Flatbed Scanner

I THINK i downloaded one but I can't find it on my system to run
(think it went into temp internet files)

Is there anyone who can help me with step-by-step guidance please? I
really am desperate enough to jump out of my study window!!!! (as many
times as the hours i've spent getting nowhere FAST!)

Will someone take pity on me, please? - i'm sure (hope)there IS
someone out there.

As you'll be aware, Primax are not supporting drivers for Win XP, so
unless someone has written a bespoke one...
