Hello,All

TEST bit in Mode page 1ch:

1 A TEST bit set to one shall create a test device failure at the next interval time, as specified by the INTERVAL TIMER field, if the DEXCPT bit is set to zero. When the TEST bit is set to one, the MRIE and REPORT COUNT fields shall apply as if the TEST bit were zero

Do not know what "test device failure" actually mean?

Does it mean it could stimulate a fake smart failure?

In the same chapter I found this:
|
| The test device failure shall be reported with the additional sense
| code set to FAILURE PREDICTION THRESHOLD EXCEEDED (FALSE).

I understand it this way:
If e.g. MRIE is set to 2h this means that the host should get CHECK
CONDITION status for the next command after the interval expires and if
he ask what's the problem with the REQUEST SENSE command he should get
the sense key UNIT ATTENTION (6h) and the ASC/ASCQ set to 5Dh/FFh.
