HP Scanjet G4050

Everything I scan with a white background has a tint of blue in it.

Even if I scan it in greyscale the discoloring shows up as grey.
Just one *more* thing I don't like about this Scanjet G4050.
Any ideas?

Check the calibration strip (clean it) it is probably on the under side
of the case where the scan bar sits.

You have to take the scanner apart to get to the calibration strip.

The calibration strip is supposed to be white. If it gets dirty, your
colors will be off.

To get an idea what to look for, I have a page on cleaning a Canon 8400F
scanner.
