Does anyone have experience scanning slides or negatives using Pakon
(now owned and branded Kodak) bulk scanners? I'd like to know what the
max effective dpi is, what speed they actually operate at, and image
quality. Any input greatly appreciated.

You need to provide better details. Model number of the Pakon scanner
would be a start.
Also try the manufactuer web site. Or Kodak.com for your model number.
Do you have the users manual on your machine? Might be details about
scanning slides in the manual.
As search on Google for Pakon Scanner gives a lot of hits (more than
40,000), maybe some help there.
