Nikon's reply....
As your LS-2000 scanner has been discontinued and uses third party
hardware/software (SCSI adapters, ASPI layer), in some cases there are
issues that Nikon cannot provide troubleshooting steps and a working
solution. Your scanner has been tested with a very limited range of
Adapted SCSI cards available at the time of testing, since then Nikon
did not re-tested it with other/newer SCSI adapters.
Also the required scanner firmware and specifically needed Nikon Scan
version are very old and will not be updated, so there is actually not
much options for providing troubleshooting and solution for the possible
problems.
Please see a link below for a checklist for trouble shooting steps:

Our recommendation to try and follow steps outlined in the above link,
but if it does not work then only option is to contact SCSI card
manufacturer to check if they would be able to offer any support on
that.
We also do not have any information regarding the meaning of the error
code 'Sense: 0X04110100'. I am very sorry that I cannot advise you
further and I do hope that the troubleshooting steps in the link above
resolve the issue.
Followed all the steps, but no joy.
