I got following problems when using "Color" print-out from my Epson
Stylus Photo 720 Ink Jet Printer:

For Words document:
When set to color mode, nothing can be printed-out.

For photo:
Only black color

I've check on the ink level from the Status Monitor (EPSON Utility),
black ink level is about 70% (No problem to use black). Color ink level
is almost full.

Because I haven't use color ink for long time (3, 4 months at least),
should I replace new color ink cartridge but the color ink level seem to
be full, or the color ink already dry? I always clean the nozzle!

Thanks

What kind of pattern do you get when you run a nozzle check printout?

Thanks. No need to check, the color ink has been used up completely. I
just changed a new color ink cartridge today, everything is OK now.

But it's interesting that the ink level is full at the ink level
monitor, something wrong from Epson's design.

You probably have clogged nozzles. While the ink levels maybe good the end
result is a clogged nozzle won't allow any ink to flow. You should do
a "nozzle test" from the utlities tab and proceed. Once you see the tru
output, try a "good soak" to loosen the surface nozzle ink clogs. Place a
folded paper towel section on the ink waste pad soaked in water and wait
at least 10-15 min. then retest. If improvement, but not 100% try a longer
soak until 100%. In the future do some color printing even is only a test
to lessen future ink clogs. Espon suggests when reaching 6 months or long
periods of nonuse to do a mnaul head cleaning cycle rather than letting
the system do it th en check results.

good luck -----Willy

It is possible that you removed the colour cartridge to look at it, this
will reset the ink level counter to zero.
