Enclosed please find the bi-weekly VMS update. This update includes a
wide range of information for your use.
**** Question to the VMS Community: In talking to Ken Farmer the
owner of www.openvms.org where the VMS audio cast resides. There is
very little feedback on the audio cast even though there are over 1500
downloads per audio cast. Is this something that the community
values? What do you want to hear, do you have feedback if so they need
to hear or I am afraid it will go away (my opinion) give your feedback

10 year uptime of a VMS cluster for Amsterdam Police is coming up.

3.2 new release of our HP Disk File Optimizer for OpenVMS (DFO)
product Ver 3.0 for Alpha and Integrity servers in Q#FY07. Currently
it is under EFT.
The existing DFO product has now been enhanced as follows:
· Design has been changed to use 64 bit pointers instead of 32 bit
pointers
· Usage of system services for 64 bits
· DFO will now get the virtual pages from P2 space instead of P0 space
These enhancements will provide the following benefits to customers:
· Allow de-fragmentation on larger disks
· Performance gain under certain scenarios

4.0 From Alpha Engineering
One Month Left - until April 27th - to Order New Alpha Systems HP will
accept orders for new Alpha Systems only until April 27, 2007. Please
check with customers to make sure they have sufficient capacity with
their OpenVMS and Tru64 UNIX Alpha Systems to carry them through
migration to new HP platforms. Customers can order upgrades, add-ons
and options for a year after the end of system sales, until April 25,
2008.
HP will continue to offer factory-refurbished systems and options
through the HP Renew Program in EMEA, AP, and Japan; and Technology
Value Solutions (TVS) in the Americas based on availability of systems
returned as a trade-in or at the end of a lease.
HP will offer service (maintenance, repair, and advisory) for all
currently selling Alpha Systems for a minimum of five years after last
system shipment, or until 2012. Typically, HP offers services much
longer than the five year minimum commitment. HP still offers service
on all Alpha Systems shipped since the original introduction in 1993.
No End of Service date has been scheduled for any Alpha System.
