Have a two member set in an HSG80, and one drive failed to come back after
power outage,
so I put in a spare. Now I need to init and mount copy it.

what are the sequence of commands needed?

Is it shadowed localy in the ZSG80 or through OpenVMS Shadowing?

The following presumes controller RAID and not OpenVMS host-based RAID.

Disk replacement details can vary by configuration; depending on
whether there were already spares available in the shelf or not, etc.

Here are the available manuals for that series controller
<http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DocumentIndex.jsp?contentType=SupportManual&cc=us&taskId=135&prodSeriesId=433888&printver=true>

Here's the service manual for the HSG80 controller
<http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00309754/c00309754.pdf>

The disk replacement sequences are documented in that service manual,
starting on pages 83 and 94.

Also consider a discussion with your preferred used-equipment providers
around an upgrade to a less-old fibre channel storage controller such
as an MSA series controller, and preferably with some less-old disks,
too. The HSG80 series controllers are very old, and the disks
typically connected with those controllers are typically low-capacity,
and slow, and often hot.

The drives are mounted with the /SHADOW qualifier

MOUNT/SYSTEM/CONFIRM DSAxxx:/SHADOW=(DDCUn:,DDCUm:) <volume-label>

HELP MOUNT/SHADOW tells you all you need to know.

The shadowing software will say it wants to perform a full copy. Make
sure that target and source are correct (I've never seen this be wrong).
Don't let the -F- confuse you.

Might need a command on the HZG controller to make the new
disk "visable". I do not remember it from the top of my head,
but should be in the docs prev posted.

Ayup. We don't even know if this is really even using HBVS here or if
there's just a /SHADOW around at DCL to get a DSA device name for a
single member unit, and RAID is really implemented out on the
controller.
