You won't. Calibre is a book format converter. The author of the book
probably considers *that* the spawn of the devil, too.

Far more than it's worth. Probably about $146.99...

Kindle requires the proprietary Mobi format. Industry standard format
is EPUB. This is the VHS BetaMax wars all over and this time Amazon
is playing the role of Sony trying to force its chosen format on an
industry. This time Sony followed the heard when EPUB came out and
now they have quite possibly the largest ebook store on the Web.

You can obtain a information about the various formats here:
http://www.ask.com/wiki/Comparison_of_e-book_formats

You will need a modern EPUB capable reader or the free software from
either Sony or BN.COM so you can read the book on your computer. As
far as I know Calibre will not convert a file which has DRM and most
sites have DRM.

Unfortunately in Sony's infinite wisdom this book is not available to
purchase in Europe currently.
Their European/UK book store has been promised since before Christmas
but has yet to materialize.

In this case I feel sorry for anyone in the UK who has bought a Sony e-
book reader. They seem to be up to their old tricks of 'slight of
hand' when it comes to marketing them.

I guess I'll just have use my patience in the meantime...

Regards Mark

Does anybody know if this book is DRM-encumbered? While the book is
extremely expensive (it's clearly not priced for the hobby market), I
might consider a purchase if the book is DRM-free.

It should have DRM.

While DRM may be an issue for some, the simple fact of life is non-DRM
content is considered a "SITE LICENSE FOR THE NATION" in India, South
Korea, North Korea, and several other countries that don't do jack
**** to enforce copyright laws.

The beauty of EPUB is you can order from anyone. Both Kobo and Barnes
& Noble now have this book up for sale. I gave both of them world
wide sales rights, so you should be able to buy it for your Sony
reader even if Sony doesn't have a UK site.

Back in the early 1990s that was the reason that many Arabic versions of
PC software needed a dongle.

Thankfully this book has glowing reviews from people who actually know
VMS and the software business. As to the rest, it is probably over
their heads.

Published reviews? By whom? And where can these be read?

It probably is. Thankfully, that doesn't include me.
