Just to let you know that I have resurrected the VAMP site from the
most recent backup I have. It is live again on the original URL,
http://vamp.issinoho.com

The content is somewhat dated but still useful, and obviously may
improve if the site gets used again.

It is live on a HP rx2660 (1.59GHz/6.0MB) running OpenVMS V8.3, CSWS
V2.2, CSWS_PHP V2.20, MYSQL051 V46.3-0, phpBB 2.0.23

Unfortunately, I just got the following error:
-------------------[ begin ]--------------------
phpBB : Critical Error

Error creating new session

Nice system! Out of curiosity, is it a single- or dual-processor
dual-core Itanium 9000 series "Montecito" configuration? Also, how
much memory do you have in there?

I'm surprised that you're running V8.3, why not V8.3-1H1 or V8.4? Is
there a specific reason for that?

By the way, I also noticed the following via NMap:
-------------------[ begin ]--------------------
Starting Nmap 5.61TEST4 ( http://nmap.org ) at 2012-02-07 15:34 CET

Is this a shortcoming of NMap, that it doesn't recognize it correctly?
I initially didn't see VMS advertized, via the Mozilla (Firefox) server
headers add-ons that I have installed. (That's why I decided to take a
closer look with NMap.)

Ok, it seems like there are issues when posting to the site. I'll take
a look at it when I get a minute but for now I'm going to take the
site offline.

Sorry for jumping the gun on this, people.

I give up! WTF is "VAMP"? How, if at all, is it related to VMS?

VMS Apache MySQL PHP, if I recall correctly. The more robust

It's "VMS Apache MySQL PHP", similar to LAMP which stands for "Linux ..."
That's the common set of services on a web server.

VMS, Apache, MySQL, PHP.

LAMP is the Linux equivalent: see

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LAMP_%28software_bundle%29

(my favourite acronym in this area is WIMP: Windows, IIS, MySQL, PHP)

VAMP = VMS Apache MySQL PHP
LAMP = Linux Apache MySQL PHP
MAMP = Mac Apache MySQL PHP
WAMP = Windows Apache MySQL PHP
xAMP = whatever Apache MySQL PHP (VMS is rarely included in x)
