Highlights of the v1.3.1 update include:
- Refreshed development environment: The Ultra C/C++ compiler and Hawk
are included in this release. Both are the very latest version of
their component. Both include significant upgrades since the v1.3
versions. Examples include:
- Numerous Hawk and Hawkdbgr performance, reliability, and
usability enhancements
- Many compiler and C library bug fixes and performance
enhancements
- Additional C and C++ standard library headers
- Updates to other host utilities including; os9make, editmod,
fixmod, etc.
- Addition of Debug Tools Support. This update includes support for
the OS-9 Debug tools; including special, debug versions of the
standard C run-time libraries. Refer to the Ultra C Library
Reference Manual (ultrac_lib_ref.pdf) and OS-9 Debug Tools
(dbglog_use.pdf) manuals for more information.
- Module updates: Many updates are included in the form of an updated
module. These are various bug-fixes that have occurred since the
release of OS-9 for 68K in February of 2006. Examples include:
- Kernel updates to fix a path and/or process descriptor leak
- Fixes for the "buddy" kernel and ssm
- Network stack performance and reliability fixes
- An alternative set of FTP server modules with extended
capabilities including PASV support
- NFS client updates fixing issues with some Linux file systems
- PPP stack fixes
- mshell and shell enhancements and bug fixes
- Various drivers (including source if applicable) and other port
specific modules updates
- Documentation updates: There are well over a dozen new and updated
manuals included in this update.
