Subject: Keyboard Driver Name and Location?
I seemed to have lost my keyboard driver. I'd rather not reinstall OS2 and software.

What is the name of the keyboard driver file?
Where should it reside?
Do you have a copy you could email me?

thanks, Dan

Search on "key*.* produced:

\os2\keyb.com
\os2\keyboard.dcp
\msdos\keybhe.com
\msdos\winos2\system\keyboard.drv

Can't tell which of these you may need.

Thanks!  I found the IBM keyboard driver update that includes USB support for OS2 v3.0.  Do you think this will work as the keyboard driver for OS2 v2.1?  Dan

I doubt it, but it's always worth a try - the worst that will happen is
nothing. :-). Warp 3 (OS/2 3) is not more than an upgrade to OS/2 2.1,
AFAIK there are no fixpacks that will take you from 2.1 to 3. But one
would expect the fundamentals (such KB drivers) to stay compatible with
pretty well any version. Keyboards don't change much. (OTOH. with about
40 fixpacks you can get from Warp 3 to Warp 4.)

I think you should try another newsgroup for an answer to this. Try
comp.os.os2.misc. Unfortunately there will be a lot of spam. Usenet is
getting very bad.

Good luck.

I just resubscribed to comp.os.os2.misc. Very active group, and low spam
count. Go for it! I'm going to unsubscribe from this group - it gets
only about 4 messages a day, and 5 of them are spam. :-) If you answer
this post, do so on the other group - I'd be interested to know if the
updated KB driver works with OS/2 2.1.

Try comp.os.os2.setup.misc, too.
