Where can I find information on the IBM MCM.IFS mobile drive synchronization
file system and a copy of it for MCP2 to test? It is noted in several places
from a Google search, as well as documented in the OS/2 Configtool database. I
think a couple years back Peter Knapper was noting that he had used it for a
long time for remote file sycnchronization for critical files for backup
purposes.

I'd like to learn more about this.

Nope... not me. I have never heard of MCM.IFS. I have been using the
OS/2 Replication facility for long time, but not this one.

Sorry......................pk.

I recall a feature like this from Warp 3 or Warp 4, but I don't have
time to go looking for those CDs just now. Do you have those CDs somewhere?

The word Replication was what was missing. And how to do that with the OS2 LAN
operations is where one can read up in the OS/2 Warp File and Print Guide part
of the in Tasks subfolder of the OS/2 Information folder on the Desktop.

I'd still like to know what MCO.IFS is all about if anyone else here can help.

And looking back at things while the development work was going on with IBM
that I really should have looked at this with mission critical Btrieve file
support for both DOS and OS/2 and multi-user write/read record operations were
being used. At the same time the mission critical files were being replicated
on another backup workstation for security purposes. Wow what I missed,
Peter, sigh...

Thanks!

Yes, a number of them from fully paid for box work. I wonder if this is
somehow 'buried' in the installation options part of creating an OS/2 box? And
that is how it is not on any of a number of Warp4 and MCP2 boxes in any
installed directory? I don't recall ever seeing anything like this in the
setup options Perce.

I've also got a fully legal WSEB CD set and all the required Fix Pack stuff for
it up to the latest that I've never installed. I wonder if someone knows that
this is part of that product? I've never had time to try this product on any
box but guess I should have done that long ago, sigh.

What about using OS/2 port of rsync for replicating these files?

You mean MFS.IFS ? Mobile file system to sync LAN shares ? That was in
Warp 4 bonus pak. We stuffed that in eCS 1.x and 2.x with eCS CD 2.
