Here's my set up:

(1) Windows 7 Pro
(2) Virtual PC 2007 64-bit version

I have succesfully installed Warp 4 in VPC and applied Fixpack 15 and
the VPC additions (to enable file sharing etc.) Having chosen VGA as
the Primary Graphics Display in initial System Configuration, the
screen resolution shown in the System Setup object shows 640 x 480 x 16
colors - there are no other options.

I therefore installed GENGRADD97 (choosing VGA as the video type)
assuming that this would give more options for screen resolution. It
doesn't - I still only see the one resolution i.e. 640 x 480 x 16.

have I missed out any vital steps? Any ides as how to get more (usable)
screen resolutions?

TIA

Well, I started VPC/Warp this morning and the additional resolutions
are available in the Display selection object. I think this was
because, rather than switching off Warp in the VM to allow GRADD
changes to take place, I had been turning off the VM. Anyway that
problem seems to solved.

Paul,

Anything I should watch for installing eCS 1.2 on Hyper-V server 08??
The only thing I would need is the com port to work.
I have a lighting controller and s-ware to program it.

Rich: sorry I don't know anything about eCS 1.2 or Hyper-V server.

I hope you will use Virtual PC 2007 SP1 with Hotfix KB958162
and latest security fixes.
The version from Console - ? - Info should be 6.0.210.0 or similiar.

Why? Because there were some important changes in additions for maximum
screen resolutions
(VMAdditions.iso, 29,173,760, 2-Feb-2009, 22:14, x64)
and some security fixes.

Maximum resolution should be now 2048 x 1920 (32 Bit) - in unfixed
Virtual PC 2007 SP1 you got only max. 1600 x 1200.

Ok.

Why using GENGRADD97? Display driver from additions should be sufficient.

Andreas: I downloaded VPC2007 from the Microsoft Virtual PC Download
Center (http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=4580). I
assume that this is the latest version available i.e. the version which
includes SP1.

Ah, I've just discovered that there is a separate download for VPC with
SP1. I'll download and install this one.

MS is here not very user friendly. You will need to download and install
the additional Hotfix KB958162 after VPC 2007 SP1 to get the latest
Version (VMAdditions) and support for really large screen resolutions.
