Hello all. I have set up a VPN connecting to a windows 2k box. I am
behind a linksys wrt150n router. I can establish the connection to
the VPN server using escoNet. Once connected (from ecs 2.0rc5), I can
access the services on the VPN server (i.e. VNC) without a problem.
When I try to access the other machines on the network, it starts to
connect and then hangs. I did a wireshark capture on the VPN server
and saw that the first few packets were getting through, but my os2
box sends a duplicate ack which is answered by 3 or 4 retransmit
attempts from the peer. It is at this point that it hangs. I thought
it might be a rwin problem since the packet from os/2 has an rwin of
64000. I tried modifying this with inetcfg and it makes no difference
on the vpn lan (IT still has a window value of 64000). Any help at
this point would be much appreciated.

On a side note, I also have this problem using an openvpn tunnel to
both a windows 2000 server and an ECS 2.0rc5 openvpn server.

Just a thought, have you set/reset either of the below settings in the
inetcfg.ini file.

synattack 0 0 0 1 SYN Attack Flag ON/OFF
syncookie 0 0 0 1 SYN Cookie Flag ON/OFF

Both should be off. Having either ON can prevent NETBIOS over TCP access
on some systems.

Bruce, Thanks for the reply. I have played around with all of my
inetcfg options to no avail. I have this same problem on a machine at
work... I am beginning to think it is a stack problem in ECS or
something.
