Thanks. I now know enough to not delete the WP/2 files, but there's no
need to hurry. I'll rate it nice-to-have, and due to digging we'll
maybe get something out of the wreckage one day. If it's possible and
documented how to reinstall it, it'll reinstall it.

About the same here, hence the FWIW. The rest of the world assumes
Word, without perfection. I haven't lost a few chapters of my diary,
and the last WP version I really had in use (and still installed in
working order) was WP 5.1 for DOS.

I still have the same directory structure and drive layout (except for
some unimportant., recreatable PL directory), so it's not unlike that
classes play a role. If it moved files to the bootdrive, I may have
lost those too, but so far it only complained about DLLs in a
directory that wasn't inlcuded in the LIBPATH yet .
