FOC: Compatibility with old applications

All users of eComStation 2.1 can activate File Open Container
(Homepage of FOC: http://ecomstation.ru/foc):
Execute command: focdlg /I

It's important check that all your apps are compatible with FOC.

For users: FOC is optimized, accelerated and debugged.
If you have troubles with new FOC (hangs, ..) then search the cause
in drivers (Ethernet drivers / filesystem drivers)

For developers:
use standard file open dialog calls.
don't modify the dialog (don't move elements / don't hide),
simplify your code.

This is how Eugene advertises his eCoSoft products. Some of the
products are useful. Unfortunately, he tends to mail bomb the eCS
newgroups, so he is probably in more killfiles than he realizes.

I have tried FOC, which required an update to the support programs.
Updating the support programs caused an unfixable icon creep problem
that persisted until I restored the older stuff. I tried again, with
the same problem. I restored again, and won't ever bother using any of
your software again. Thanks anyway.

IMO, the reason that only 1% of the users use the FOC is because it
has defects and limitations. Have you responded to Roderick's request
for fixes to FOC and Sunny Icons.

Obligated is not the right word. You are not obligated to do
anything, although you might want to promote the product. IMO,
posting to comp.os.os2.announce and os2voice is the place for this,
not mail bombing the newsgroups. If you persist in mail bombing the
newsgroups, I have to suspect that folks will simply add you to their
kill files and your attempts to promote the products will be
fruitless.
