We are facing a serious problem with NDS. Problem description is as follows.
We have 14 servers in the tree and we were gradually upgrading those from 4.02 to 4.1. We have
completed 8 servers without any problems.
Now NDS root replica in the server(server1) which has the master is corrupted.
We did have r/w replica of the root in another server(server2) and we changed the r/w replica to
master using dsrepair utility. But the root replica in the server1 did not change to r/w after
changing the r/w to master in the server2. Right now we have two master replicas of root in the
tree.
Also we did have a replica of partition of server2 in server1.We managed to delete the replica of
that server2 from server1 using partition manager.Soon after that it shows as subordinate in the
riplica ring but "in transition".
Using dsrepair we could not fix the replicas.
Also we tried to remove DS from the server ie, from server1. Since the replica in transition it did
not allow us to remove the DS.

While running Dsrepair 4.31,DS 4.89:
Error "ServerID"34000109, This server's ID on the remote server:2900012a
Error -626 connecting to server server1.OU.O
The object is in local replica:External Referance -flags=00000001 "

All novell patches available till today applied.
Dstrace gives the following Error:
"SYNC:START SYNC OF PARTITION SERVER2.O STATE[6] TYPE[3]
SYNC:END OF SYNC OF PARTITION SERVER2.O ERROR -602"

Please Help.

Try the Version DS 4.89c. Reload it with SET DSTRACE=*.

You can remove servers from the replica ring with dsrepair ( Under the
Advanced Options ).

Then you can remove the NDS from the server and you can recreate it.
Answer if it helps.

Bye Andreas
