I note the following limis of the BGI graphics library:

1. It doesn't support picture clipping
2. It doesn't support the 320x240x16 and 320x240x256 modes
3. It doesn't support the VGA palette--just the EGA one

I'm looking for a replacment for BGI that has these features.

BTW, I have TC++ 3.0, but not the Pro edition. Therefore, I can't program for the 386. Is the Pro version available for free online? If so, where? I think the 386 would be better for VGA graphics. :)

Is this a joke?
Turbo C is _really_ old!
I believe there have been additional drivers available for higher
resolutions. Probably floating around on ancient FTP sites. You could
use openwatcom, which will do all that SVGA stuff... You could just
install Linux and use gcc+SDL like everybody else does...

Try a good library, try google for svgacc for 16 bit, or
zsvga for 32 bit.
I use the first for mS C and fortran, and the second one for Watcom C.

These limits cannot be overcome easily. You should probably look into
OpenWatcom as it supports more graphics modes, 386 protected mode, and
is free and open source.
