Win95 loads slow...why?

I recently added a USR winmodem and a PCI Ethernet LAN card to my PC, in
addition to adding a couple of the Powertoys, including TweakUI (don't
think this has anything to do with it though). Now it takes Windows
almost 30 seconds to load - I get the splash screen for at least 15-20
seconds. Everything works OK, but I'm just wondering if this is normal,
or if there's anything I can do to speed things up. Any advice would be
appreciated. Thanks.

George!

Just a thought for you to consider...

One of the things going on during "boot up" is that Win95 is talking
out of that Ethernet port looking to see if it is working. If there is
anything about the setup that would lead to a timeout situation
due to the LAN, Win95 will take that much longer to finish up.

For example, if you are automatically logging into remote drives
and first your machine has to check in with a *slow* domain
controller, you could experience a slow boot.

Actually 30 Seconds is on the fast side of normal for Win95 to load.
