HELP! Domain error with adminstrator logon.

I have an XP pro machine that gives me an error (paraphrased) when
attempting to logon with adminstrator:
User not in domain, or domain not found
* I use the adminstrator account exclusively on this machine, always
have.
* All other accounts were deleted years ago.
* I didn't set up any domains, I use a wireless adaptor; and set the
workgroup to whatever default value there was.
* This started after my machine hung once, and I reloaded XP without a
reformat to fix a couple corrupted files.

Is there anyway I can edit the user profile or other system files to
remove the domain contraints giving me problems? I have access to
Winternals ERD2003, or can move the disk to another machine to
accomplish this.

Any help would be appreciated,
